  1. What is Air Wash and how does it work?

    A system that flows air in at the top front of a stove, keeps the glass clear of smoke and soot, and provides an air supply for secondary burning, which gives a good view of the flames and more efficient use of the fuel.

  2. What is the Ash Pan?

    The ash pan is the Container that holds the ash produced by burnt fuel.

  3. What is a Back Boiler?

    A back boiler is a Boiler fitted in place of the back firebrick, which provides a hot water supply and reduces the direct room heating output of the stove.

  4. What is a Balanced Flue?

    A balanced flue system is a System for gas stoves that allows the stove to be fitted to an outside wall where there is no chimney available.

  5. What is twin Wall Flue Liner?

    Twin wall flue liner is Insulated flue that can be used as external or internal flue system.

  6. What is smokeless Burning/Clean Burn?

    Systems that burn the fuel so efficiently that little or no smoke is emitted from the chimney.

  7. What does Side Loading mean?

    Opening in the side of the stove that allows you to load longer logs into the stove

  8. What is a Riddler and what is it used for?

    A riddler is used to clear out the ash from the grate without opening the door, so that there is no dust or mess

  9. How does Overnight Burning work?

    Slow, controlled burning that allows the stove to remain alight through the night, ready to be used in the morning

  10. Maximum Log Length?

    The longest size of log that you can fit into the stove

  11. What is a Log Store?

    A log store is a Space to store and give a final dry to seasoned logs, prior to burning

  12. What is a Flue Damper used for?

    A flue damper is an Adjustable control that reduce the size (and suction) of the flue, allowing greater heating efficiency in use, and easier lighting from cold

  13. What is Fire Rope?

    Fire rope is a heat resistant rope that goes hand in hand with fire cement. Can be used in conjunction with Fire Cement to help fill larger gaps.

  14. What is Fire Cement used for?

    A ready mixed ground putty which dries rock hard once exposed to heat.

  15. What is Fire Brick used for?

    Fire bricks are used in many wood burning stoves and multifuel stoves to help protect the steel or cast iron bodies while at the same time increasing the internal firebox temperatures for better combustion

  16. What is a Double Sided stove?

    Double sided stoves are Stoves with doors front and back, designed to be viewed from both sides. Useful when the stove is fitted in a wall between two interconnected rooms

  17. What is the Canopy?

    The canopy is the Hood above the stove, designed to complement the stoves design, and assist integration of the stove into the fireplace
